Giulio Conte is a Medical Doctor specialized in Cardiology with a University Master in Cardiac Electrophysiology and a Ph.D. degree in Medical Sciences. His clinical and research expertize is related to clinical cardiac electrophysiology and inherited arrhythmogenic syndromes.
He graduated at the Medical School of the University of Parma (Italy) in 2006 and obtained the specialization diploma in Cardiovascular Medicine in 2011 at the same University.
In 2013 the European Heart Rhythm Association awarded him with a fellowship for an “Advanced Program Training in Clinical Electrophysiology with emphasis on catheter ablation” at the Heart Rhythm Management Centre of the Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussels, Belgium.
His research activity on inherited arrhythmogenic syndromes started in 2008 at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, Spain (Director: Josép Brugada). In 2015 he obtained his PhD degree in Medical Sciences at Vrije Universiteit of Brussels with a research on Brugada syndrome in children and the elderly (promotor: Prof. Pedro Brugada).
Giulio Conte is senior consultant at the Division of Cardiology of Cardiocentro Ticino in Lugano, Switzerland and clinical scientist at the Center for Computational Medicine in Cardiology at Università della Svizzera Italiana.
He is Honorary Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium and Private Lecturer at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Università della Svizzera Italiana, Switzerland.
He has served as Committee member of the EHRA Young Electrophysiologist and, currently, is co-Chair of the Scientific Initiatives Committee of the European Heart Rhythm Association.
He is author of 125 original scientific articles. He has recently obtained personal research grants from the Swiss Government (Swiss National Foundation), Swiss Heart Foundation, and private foundation (Boston Scientific Inc.) for a total of 1.3 million Euro.
