Jonathan Behar

Jonathan Behar

Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist

Dr Jonathan Behar is a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. 

He qualified from the Royal Free and UCL Medical School with a distinction in medical sciences in 2006. He completed general internal medicine and cardiology training in North London. He trained in electrophysiology and cardiac device implantation at the Barts Heart Centre, London.

Dr Behar has written over 80 peer reviewed papers and continues to present his work internationally and has co-directed several international cardiology meetings.

Dr Behar has a passion for addressing unmet clinical needs through translational and innovative solutions. He was an NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow and recently led a team which digitised pre-operative consent for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. Cecilia Linde

Cecilia Linde

Professor and Head of Cardiology

Prof Cecilia Linde is a professor and consultant in cardiology at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. Her research focuses on epidemiology and devices for use in heart failure. 

Her research currently focuses devices and their implementation and epidemiology in heart failure. Cecilia Linde is Vice President of the Board member of the ESC for the period of 2018-2020 responsible for working groups, councils, women, the young and the membership committee and serves as member of the Congress Programme Committee as topic chair for arrhythmia.

Prof Linde is the author of more than 250 papers, reviews and editorials in a wide variety of fields including CRT, haemodynamic monitoring and HFpEF and she serves on the editorial board of several journals. She has been a board member of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) for which she was scientific programme Chair 2013–2015 and has served on many guidelines writing committees of EHRA and…

Michael Glikson

Michael Glikson

Head of the Integrated Heart Center

Dr Michael Glikson is Director of the Jesselson Integrated Heart Center of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, in charge of both cardiology and cardiac surgery departments.

Dr Glikson graduated cardiology training at Sheba Medical Center, Israel and continued in a electrophysiology and pacing fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He headed the Pacing and Electrophysiology Unit at Sheba Medical Center since 2002, and the Davidai Arrhythmia Center since 2010.  He was appointed an associate professor of cardiology in 2006, full professorship in 2012. He is an adjunct professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Personal History

Prof. Kevin Vernooy is based in Maastricht, The Netherlands, where he works as Head of Cardiology for Maastricht UMC+.

 

Academic History

Prof. Kevin Vernooy became a medical doctor in 2003, after completing his studies at Maastricht University. He completed his PhD in 2006 on cardiac resynchronisation therapy at Maastricht University. In 2012, he finished his cardiology training at Maastricht UMC+, with a subspecialisation on the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias as an clinical electrophysiologist .1 He also holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management” (DAS-CAM). This initiative is a collaboration between MUMC+, European Heart Academy and the European Heart Rhythm Association.
